Yoga Practice: Downward-Facing Dog
The Downward-Facing Dog is a yoga pose that stretches the calves and hamstring muscles in the legs. The pose also strengthens the shoulder and upper back muscles. Yoga instructor Marianne Schloss and her student Friederike Almstedt demonstrate how to perform the Downward-Facing Dog at a workshop in Tucson, Arizona. When performing this yoga pose, be careful if you have shoulder problems and instead focus on the modified Downward-Facing Dog pose Marianne suggests.
