Need A Vaccine Passport?
We’re not yet sure what life will be like in the days after the current pandemic ends, but there’s already a move toward developing smartphone apps that would allow us to upload our current health information – including COVID-19 test results, and potentially proof of vaccination against the disease. These “passports” may be needed for much more than travel abroad. They may be required to enable you to enter movie theaters, stadiums, and even office buildings. Reportedly global firms such as IBM are developing apps that would allow companies to customize specific indications that are required for anyone to enter an office or complex. These could include recent coronavirus tests, temperature checks and vaccination records. Much will depend on what we learn about the transmission of the disease in vaccinated individuals.
